See all FAQsDo I have to move my podcast to Fountain?
No. Connect the feed you already have and everything except livestreams runs on it. A podcast counts once on your plan, hosted or connected.
What are credits?
Credits cover the work Fountain does for you. A new transcript or a post that goes out uses one. Drafts, searches, and API and MCP calls are free.
Does indexing my back catalog cost extra?
No. Your back catalog is indexed free in your first month, on every plan.
How do I switch from my current host?
Book a 30-minute onboarding call. We import your feed and help you set up a redirect at your current host, so subscribers follow without doing anything and nothing goes offline.
Are there any limits on storage or downloads?
Not on Lite or Pro. Upload as many episodes as you like, with no cap on downloads or streams. Enterprise limits are set with you.
Can my co-host or editor get access?
On Pro and Enterprise. Lite has one seat, Pro four and Enterprise as many as you need. Send us the email address on their Fountain account and we will set it up.
Do you distribute my podcast to all apps?
Yes. Your feed works in every podcast app, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify and YouTube Music. New shows are listed on Podcast Index automatically, and we walk you through submitting to the rest.
What fees apply to payments from listeners?
Lightning payments carry a 2% fee for podcasts hosted on Fountain, or 4% for a claimed podcast hosted elsewhere. Card payments carry a 5% fee plus Stripe’s processing fees. A further 1% of each Lightning payment goes to Podcast Index, and withdrawals carry 1%.
How do I get paid?
Lightning payments arrive the moment they are sent. Card payments go through Stripe and usually pay out within a few business days, depending on your country.
Can I share revenue with contributors?
Yes. Splits divide every Lightning payment as it arrives: your co-host, producer or editor at show level, and guests at episode level. Nobody has to invoice anybody.
