No. Claim your podcast and listeners can pay you with Lightning straight away, with a 4% fee instead of 2%.
Which plan do I need?
Zaps and streaming payments are on every plan. Paid subscriptions, single episode purchases and card payments need Pro or Enterprise.
What fees apply to payments from listeners?
Lightning payments carry a 2% fee for podcasts hosted on Fountain, or 4% for a claimed podcast hosted elsewhere. Card payments carry a 5% fee plus Stripe’s processing fees. A further 1% of each Lightning payment goes to Podcast Index, and withdrawals carry 1%.
How do I get paid?
Lightning payments arrive the moment they are sent. Card payments go through Stripe and usually pay out within a few business days, depending on your country.
Do listeners need a Fountain account?
To pay with Lightning, yes. The wallet lives in the app, and they can top it up from any bank account by connecting Strike. Card payments work through Stripe.
Can listeners pay me from other apps?
Zaps and streaming payments work in Fountain and a growing list of apps built on open protocols. Paid subscriptions are Fountain only, for now.
Can listeners buy a single episode?
Yes. Set a purchase price on a bonus, early access or ad-free episode, from $1, and listeners without a subscription can buy it by card or from their wallet.
Can I share revenue with contributors?
Yes. Splits divide every Lightning payment as it arrives: your co-host, producer or editor at show level, and guests at episode level. Nobody has to invoice anybody.
