Did you know that in the U.S. every single year more than 50,000 people are poisoned by carbon monoxide gas? It's a crazy high number and a lot of people are only somewhat familiar as to what carbon monoxide is and what effects it has on the human body. It's very much a different beast from carbon dioxide. Let's get into it. Carbon monoxide (CO) is often referred to as “The Silent Killer”. It's a colorless, odorless gas that can cause severe brain damage, and ultimately lead to death; and a lot of times this happens completely invisibly. You can't see it, you can't smell it, you can't taste it, but carbon monoxide is responsible for hundreds of deaths in the U.S. each year.
