What are the main differences between classical and modern architecture? Is it a coincidence that the century of fiat was the century of modern architecture? Does easy money discourage building for the long-term? Is modern architecture more efficient, or is to just architecture of a higher time preference society? We are joined by Michael Diamant, the founder of The New Traditional Architecture online community to discuss these questions and much more!ReferencesMichael Diamant Twitter - https://twitter.com/michael_diamant?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor New Traditional Architecture and Urbanism website - https://newtrad.org/ New Traditional Architecture Facebook group -https://www.facebook.com/groups/Klassisknyproduktion/Enjoyed this episode? Barcelona’s architecture is indeed fantastic, as someone who prefers outdoors that is a city I could actually live in. I was always puzzled by how they achieve the density, thank you for explaning that. Also intriguing is the fact that because we have shitty money loosing value its enough for the houses to only be a bit less shitty than the money. Incentives!
