Jan is an embedded devices engineer and the father of the Braiins OS firmware and BOSminer software. Jan dives deep into the development of firmware and the challenges he and his development team encounter when attempting to modify machines without the assistance of the manufacturers. We cover Braiins’ (SlushPool) role in UASF and how stratum V2 enhances security, efficiency, flexibility, and decentralization of mining. We also discuss the development of the BaiinsOS+ firmware, and the advantages it can bring to a mining operator. ​We discuss the rebranding of SlushPool to Braiins Pool under the Braiins brand umbrella. In this #PlebMinerMonth episode of @BitBuyBit, Jon sits down with Moses of Living Power Generation Technology. Moses is working on monetizing agricultural waste with Bitcoin mining powered by syngas, derived from biomass pyrolysis. Moses’ system uses a crop called Azolla. Azolla can be used as animal feed or biomass and is easily grown with little inputs. The even can purify the water in which it’s grown. The use of Azolla as a source of animal feed, biomass, and fertilizer can replace the need to use petrochemical fertilizers and industrial agricultural methods. This can empower the sovereign farmer to detether from chemical supply chains. Harnessing the syngas byproduct can also empower every farmer to become a Bitcoin miner.
