The "end game" economic discussion raised the hair on the back of my neck but it was something I needed to hear, ignoring it won't make it any easier. Also, great on the ground reporting from El Salvador, cheers guys! ✌️

Great job describing the coming economic storm, Dad. It definitely needs a name. I've taken to calling it "The Everything Bubble", but I would be interested in other candidates. Great show.

Exchanges in the UK want additional details when withdrawing, esp if moving funds to other exchanges. For most it just means selecting the destination country and "non-custodial" wallet type. If you can access exchanges outside the UK/EU then no such questions are asked ;-) As is then, not a big deal but it's the thin end of a wedge. Who knows where this goes in future. A small amount of BTC in a hot wallet and always using BTC/lightning given the choice helps us all.

Episode 100: Fortress Not Trustworthy
Pre-Show A very reasonable discussion on HN around the WTF Happened in 1971 (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=37482646) website, the world is complicated, there are many ways to interpret history and the present, none are particularly satisfying News Binance.US cuts third of staff as CEO Brian Shroder leaves (https://cointelegraph.com/news/binance-us-cuts-third-of-staff-ceo-brian-shroder-leaves-report) Binance.US, the United States arm of the crypto exchange, has cut around a third of its staff — or 100 positions — with its president and CEO Brian Shroder also departing the firm. Binance.US Statment to CoinTelegraph: “The [Securities and Exchange Commission’s] aggressive attempts to cripple our industry and the resulting impacts on our business have real-world consequences for American jobs and innovation, and this is an unfortunate example of that.” They also say "not dead yet!" “more than seven years of financial runway” amid its move to becoming a crypto-only exchange. A Paper Computer for Bitcoin? Codex32 with Andrew Poelstra (SLP506)
A ‘paper computer’ for Bitcoin checksums and Shamir Secret Sharing may seem absurd, but that’s what we’re talking about in this episode! This project is a scheme to generate, encode, checksum, split and recover Bitcoin secret keys, using pencil, paper and lookup tables (alternately, volvelles). We discuss codex32 and the motivation behind it with Andrew Poelstra (Director of Research, Blockstream). Note this is the first of a two part episode. In this first part we discuss: Bitcoin private keys today Multi signature and Shamir Secret Sharing contrasted Where to keep shards or keys Error correction Risks with Hardware wallets (even though you should still use them) BIP39 vs codex32 Limitations of the paper computer (Volvelles) Links: codex32 website codex32 github Blockstream store Sponsors: Pacific Bitcoin Festival (code LIVERA) CoinKite.com (code LIVERA) Mempool.space Base58  SL links: Follow me on Twitter @stephanlivera Subscribe to the podcast
