Fountain offer two ways to create a clip from a podcast. Simply press the Clip button on the player to see the following options:
Timestamp editor
Start clipping from section of the audio as soon as you hear something valuable you want to share.
• Drag the blue handles to select the part you would like to clip
• Use the blue skip buttons for finer control over the start and end time
• Use the yellow position marker to move to a section in the clip
• Press Restart Clip to to play from the beginning
• Save as a draft and proceed to the publish screen
Transcript editor
Our transcript editor gives you more control when clipping and is available with Fountain Premium.
Load the transcript
Press Clip then choose create clip with transcript from the bottom menu to load the audio transcript. The loading time depends on the length of the episode and your connection, but it can take a minute or two. When it's ready, the transcript icon in the bottom menu will turn yellow.
Choose speech blocks
The audio transcript is broken down into blocks so you can choose with part of the episode you want to clip. Select the blocks then swipe left or press edit clip to move on.
Edit text and preview audio
Once you've chosen the blocks, you cut the clip audio as required with the text editor. This is really helpful if you need to cut a section out. As you edit the clip you can play it back using the preview player. Press save when you are happy with it.
Publishing your clipTitle, tag and publish
Give your clip a name that is interesting and gets people's attention. You can add hashtags so they appear in related playlists. Press publish and your clip will be seen by your followers on the Discover page and appear on the Show page. You can also save a clip as a draft, which you can come back to later by going to your Profile.
Share it on social media
Press Share to create a video with subtitles. We love to listening to your clips, so please tag @fountain_app and the podcaster host so they hear them too!
